Current Projects & Positions
Novelist, Freelance Writer, Independent Scholar
Associate Editor for Physician Family Magazine
This is a volunteer position for the AMA Alliance’s member publication. Not only do I assist with preparation and editing of the quarterly magazine, but I also assist our main editor with the blog, as well as serve on the Communications Committee. I also assist with managing the social media operations of our Physician Family Community, which is a closed Facebook group. While I have written for and assisted with the operations for several years, I was officially appointed as Associate Editor in April of 2019.
Reedsy Discovery Reviewer
In this volunteer position, I provide independent authors with reviews of their upcoming works within the guidelines provided by Reedsy. As a writer, I used this service for my release of Homecoming. When I realized there were no reviewers on the site focused specifically on LGBTQIA+ fiction, I decided to become a reviewer for the site.
- Novels to date: Homecoming (2019), Elegant Freefall (2018), Zamani (2016), Brigitte’s Cross (2014), Blood Sisters (2012). Lupercalia Press Imprint.
- Long Weekend (tentative title, forthcoming)
- Current nonfiction project: Revision of Looking Forward, Looking Backward: The Utopian Impulse from Stowe to Gilman. Abstract available at https://aquila.usm.edu/theses_dissertations/2454/
- Research ongoing for a critical biography of Octave Thanet (Alice French).
